THE DAFIS FRAMEWORK

The purpose of this phase is to staff the change effort with the best capable leaders, get a consensus around the current organization state, determine why the change is needed and what are the consequences of not changing, design a clear vision of the desired future state and define goals, objectives, and success criteria.

Phase 2: Assess change impact and readiness

Once the organizational current state is documented and the desired future state are well stated and accepted by the leadership team, the next phase will be the assessment of change impact and organizational readiness. The purpose of this phase is to assess the magnitude of impact on the existing organization's people, culture, and operating model. This phase will also help to ensure the organization is prepared for the implementation of the change solution and has the necessary skills, ability, and resources to deliver the desired objectives and outcomes, while effectively continuing the ongoing operation.

Phase 3: Formulate change strategy and plans

The purpose of this phase is to formulate the overall change strategy which includes governance, scope, high-level change process, resources for achieving objectives and outcomes, stakeholder engagement and communication, culture and behavior change, change infrastructure. Once the change strategy which describes the 'what and why' of the change is validated by the organization's leadership, the change team will need to develop a comprehensive change management plan that will document the 'how' of the change, which means the actions, timelines, and resources needed to deliver the change.

Phase 4: Implement and execute the change management plan

The purpose of this phase is to execute, manage, and monitor the implementation of the change management plan, which requires that all resources, strategies, timelines, communication, and learning are in perfect alignment to deliver the desired objectives and outcomes.

Phase 5: Sustain change

The purpose of this phase is to conduct lessons learned and evaluate the success or adoption outcomes of the change management effort, document what went well, record learning and share improvements for future change management programs in the organization.
